Closely following the release of Scribe™ for iPhone users, we can now confirm that Scribe™ is officially available for those of you on Android!
Scribe™ is immediately available for both free and paid users on Android – soon to be available to free users with iPhone devices too.
As before, the Scribe™ product that is currently available for purchase is Get The Gist™ – which transcribes the first 10 seconds of your voicemails, so you can read and ‘get the gist’ of the message before you listen, saving you time and promoting convenience. Get The Gist™ is priced at £1.49 for paid users (those of you with a subscription), and £1.99 for free users. Remember, if you exceed your message allowance (up to 50 messages) or exceed the month time-span of the product, you will need to purchase Get The Gist™ again to continue having your messages transcribed.
HulloMail promotes convenience. What with the sending, receiving and sharing of your voicemails being an instant process, would it be possible to make our app even better? After hearing the feedback from our loyal consumers, we came up with a solution to make the receiving and checking of voicemails an even simpler process. This is an exciting moment for us all, as we can now proudly introduce our new and long-anticipated transcription feature, Scribe™ !
Scribe™ is HulloMail’s new transcription service, which has a fun and interesting product under its name – Get The Gist™, which transcribes the first 10 seconds of your voicemails, using only machines (yes no humans), to give you the gist of what the message is about, before you’ve even listened to it. Ten seconds may not sound like a lot, however it only takes a few words to express a message, so Get The Gist™ has you perfectly covered. Picture how useful this will be where it’s inconvenient to pick up the phone, have a glance at your received message and … get the gist of it! Simple.
Available only to subscribers, Scribe – Get The Gist™ can be purchased via the in-app store for £1.49 for up to 50 messages, over 30 days. That’s $1.99 in the US and €1.59 in Ireland. As with other transcription services, Scribe™ aims for the most accurate transcriptions possible, however external factors have an influence and may affect the transcription of messages – a bad phone line for example.
Enjoy the new feature! It’s going to completely change how you experience your voicemail service, in a totally awesome way.

My intentions regarding my recent excitable outbursts on various social media sites have been to create the element of anticipation, wonder, and perhaps even mild confusion. I do believe that I have succeeded – if not on the excitement front then at least on confusing a great deal of people. Either way, you are all interested.
The good news is that I have not lead you all astray, and there is actually something worth your time behind all this build-up.
I present to you the HulloMail H-Factor Christmas Singing Competition!
I know what you’re thinking. “What a long-winded title…” Well to be perfectly honest with you it is simply known as ‘The H-Factor’, but some room has to be made for description. I would like to stress that The H-Factor is nothing like The X-Factor – at least not in the sense of name, nor the sense of employing a rather [incredibly] intimidating [deluded] judging panel. This is merely for some festive fun! There will be no real ‘judgement’ beyond that of deciding which entrant wins the prize.
Oh, did I forget to mention what the prize is? It’s an iPad 2 WiFi, you know, no big deal …
This is, after all, a Christmas competition – therefore all you have to do is send us your best renditions of your favourite Christmas carols, sung by you, via Hullo message!
The competition begins today and will finish at midnight (GMT) on the 3rd of January 2012, so you’ll need to warm up those vocal cords and get singing sharpish! Your recording can be one of yourself, a friend or family member, your children, a hobo on the street – anyone you like! Whoever has the best entry will win an iPad 2 Wifi plus a free subscription to HulloMail SmartVoicemail for one year – two runners up will also win a years’ subscription each.
The winner and the runners up will have their entries posted on the HulloMail Facebook page, for everyone to hear! What are you waiting for? A bus? NO. So get singing!

A good morning to you all! Would you like 1000 years’ free subscription to HulloMail SmartVoicemail? Well, we certainly aren’t just going to give it to you. Whatever gave you that idea? The good news is that this is still something of a possibility with our new Voucher Code feature.
All you have to do is take a look at your automatically-generated Voucher Code (found under ‘Settings’, then under ‘Invite’ in the HulloMail app), then press the ‘Select and Invite’ button to give this to your friends and family, get them to sign up to our service using the code, and for every 5 people you sign up you’ll get 6 months’ free subscription to HulloMail SmartVoicemail and all it’s features – it’s just that easy!
The best part is there’s no limit to how many months’ subscription you can build up, so go crazy with those invitations people! If you want those 1000 years: there’s 166[ish] sets of 6 months in 1000 years, and you need 5 people a time to sign up – that’s around 830 loved ones you need to get in touch with right this instant and send your code. Or is it more people than that? Or is that actually 1000 months? I don’t know, I’m not in this job because I’m a mathematician. Also, once your invited friends have signed up they’ll receive a code too, and can get 5 other friends to sign up and get their 6 months’ free subscription, and those people can get a code and … you get the idea there.
This feature is currently available for Android, it will soon become available to those of you with an iPhone or a BlackBerry device – so you can stop that panicking right now.
Following the launch of our month-long “How Do You Use Yours” competition on Facebook, we are pleased to announce the two winners who will each receive a HTC Wildfire S smartphone.
The campaign was designed to find out exactly what our users use their HulloMail SmartVoicemail and voice message apps for and we received some excellent entries, so thank you to everyone who entered.
Congratulations go to the winners, who are David Lunn and Conor Buckley – both explained how they are using HulloMail not only for the voicemail functionality,
but to make the most of additional features including the Facebook sharing and the Individual greetings:
David Lunn – “I have a few Mobile numbers and all tie into the same HulloMail account via MobileMe and Mailboxsync, enabling me to check all my voicemail, at the same time, regardless of which mobile I have with me, or online at hullomail.com, or straight in my email inbox 🙂 Plus the ability to post Voicemail to Facebook makes for some amusing little posts of drunken voicemails left on nights out. ;)”
Conor Buckley – “I use the personalized greetings to freak out my family and friends… Was that what is was invented for?”
Commenting on the competition, Andy Munarriz, founder and CEO, HulloMail added, “We launched the Facebook campaign to find out just how imaginative our users are with our apps and were pleased with the range of entries received! Congratulations to both David and Conor for winning – the HTC Wildfire S handsets will be winging their way to you now.”
